Portret van de zwarte clown Rafael Padilla, die optrad onder de artiestennaam Chocolat, dansend in de zogenaamde Engelse Bar (Irish and American Bar) in Parijs. Hij wordt daarbij muzikaal begeleid door zijn partner, de clown George Footit. Links staat de barman bekend als Ralph of Randolphe.
